oh poor blog, how I've missed you...

our sad blog is in major need of an update- it's been a long, cold, winter for us! but, finally, spring has sprung, and we're excited for the upcoming portrait and wedding season!

to kick off our much-needed blog love, to celebrate their upcoming wedding, i'm posting a fun montage of our clients, Melissa & Michael, who are getting married this next weekend in Madison! We can't wait to celebrate with them, and are truly looking forward to it. More posts to come soon, i promise! :-)

zach + colleen = engaged!

We always get teased for telling our clients to "just hang out" when we're doing our engagement sessions; but when we photographed zach & colleen, this phrase took on a whole new meaning! These guys are SO full of energy- I think I had about 800,000 out of focus images because we could barely keep up! :-) We laughed until our faces hurt with them. We are so excited for their wedding, and we can't wait to "hang" out with them more soon!

chad + lisa = engaged!

When I met Lisa in a little coffee shop last year, I felt our personalities instantly "click." We were so excited to get to spend some time getting to know Chad & Lisa a bit more (and their sweet dog Belle too!). The evening sun over Minneapolis created a beautiful atmosphere for a fun and relaxed engagement session with the three of them. Their fun, playful and always happy personalities shine through in all of their images. Words cannot express how much of an honor and pleasure it is for us to be photographing their wedding later this summer- can't wait!

david + kiara= engaged!

David & Kiara came all the way from London to hang out with us a couple of weekends ago (well, they came to give their families a chance to know each other, too), and we had a great time getting to know them and take some pictures as well. David's accent is to die for, and Kiara just couldn't be any sweeter... we love them! Even though a huge storm was looming in the distance and the wind was insane that day, we had so much fun. We can't wait for their wedding later this summer in August here in Minneapolis! Congrats guys!

erik + kjersti = engaged!

Talk about irony- we had the amazing pleasure of re-connecting with Erik & Kjersti thanks to Ben & Breia (our friends/clients who got married in January) after many years apart... you see, during my short time as a student at St. Olaf (I studied there for one semester my junior year to get a new breadth of art classes), I met Erik in photography class. We became fast friends, sitting in the back of the dark classroom during slideshows and trying to keep each other awake during the most boring lectures. He always talked about his sweet girlfriend, Kjersti, who was also a student at Olaf, I just unfortunately never got the opportunity to meet her during my time there.

Skip ahead about 7 years, and while hanging out with Breia and her girls that cold morning while they prepped for her big day, I got to know Kjersti. I just didn't realize it was her- the-love-of-Erik's-life Kjersti- and I couldn't have been more happy to have met her that day. When I saw Erik stroll into the church prior to the ceremony, I just couldn't believe it... it all came together! After 11 years (or more?) together, they're getting married in July... and Chris and I are so excited and honored to be able to be a part of their wedding day. I am so excited to have the chance to catch up with them after all these years. Congrats Erik & Kjersti!!
